We combine rights education, community organising, citizen-generated data and technical and expert support with municipal engagement and partnership.
Early Childhood Development
We advocate for enabling legal and policy frameworks, adequate funding, and competent local governance, and we help build confident and engaged ECD practitioners so that every child can realise their constitutional right to early childhood development.
We are a co-founder and the activist Secretariat of Real Reform for ECD, a national movement uniting ECD practitioners and civil society organisations. We provide the operational infrastructure, campaign strategies, research, and legal support necessary to drive legislative, policy, and budget reform.

Access to Justice
Through paralegal support, legal literacy, village outreach, workshops, radio engagement, and accompaniment, we work alongside community members to navigate legal and administrative systems and address recurring issues such as social benefits, labour-related claims, and gender-based violence. This work strengthens rights awareness, practical problem-solving, and collective confidence in using legal and democratic systems.

Other Basic Services and Local Infrastructure
Our deep local work increasingly brings us into related struggles around basic services and infrastructure, including electricity and roads. In these areas, we aim to balance immediate community-based work to unlock access and accountability with wider research, fiscal review, and systems-level engagement to address the underlying barriers impacting local government performance.
Rule of Law and Democracy
Our work also engages wider questions of rule of law, democratic accountability, and civic space. Lasting change depends on the health of the institutions, legal frameworks, and democratic processes through which accountability is pursued. We must be able to respond where systemic threats or opportunities arise.
